Which iron to use
Opening and resealing cartons
Cigarette cartons are sealed at the factory with hot glue. Getting into a sealed carton usually means a knife, and a knife nicks lids and packs. The hot glue carton opener does it clean.
Run the iron across the top of the carton. The heat melts the factory glue and the lids lift open, with no knife, no torn lids, and no damaged packs. When you are done, the same iron reseals the carton. It is not thermostatically controlled. A flat, element-heated bar holds the temperature.
The opener earns its place next to a stamping bench. Open a sealed carton to re-stamp a pack that came up wrong, then reseal it and move on. A single stamp or two stamp iron handles the re-stamp. The carton opener handles the carton.
