Which iron to use
Backup for automatic stamping lines
An automatic stamping line is fast until it stops. When it jams or goes down, product stops moving and the tax stamps still have to go on. A shelf of hand irons keeps the bench running while the line gets fixed.
A 10-stamp 2x5 hand iron carries the most volume by hand, a full row of ten per press. A solid bar iron covers the odd formats the line was set up for. Between them a crew can hold output until the automatic machine is back.
The hot glue carton opener handles the other half of a jam. When the paper gets off track on an automatic machine, cartons come through stamped and sealed with hot glue. Run the opener across the top to melt the factory glue and open the lids without a knife, without damaging lids or packs. For a line that cannot afford downtime, keeping a hand iron on the shelf, or a spare on the way, is cheaper than a stopped bench.
